This building was a modelling-exercise to learn 3DS-Max. Its a reference to the building in World of Warcraft. I decided to simulate the rope with the pennants and the lantern. The ropesimulation was made with a simple rig and the hairsystem in Maya. For the lantern and the chainlinks i used the nDynamics rigidbodys.
I started this scene from a tutorial and went then away from the original concept to follow my own ideas. The scene was build in Maya and rendered as grayscale-image with displacement-shader for the cliff and the ground. The colors were added in Photoshop.
